Lungshar Ritrö
rlung shar ri khrod/
Located in the rugged hills outside Dartsang Kalzang in the Li gorge of the Do Chu Valley, Lungshar Ritrö, aka Rizab, is the hermitage founded by Trülku Dorjé Dradul in the early 1910’s. Over the years, he sponsored the construction of three temples, the sacred objects inside, and for a printing house.
Several key lineage holders of the Düdjom Tersar are also connected to the place: Trülku Drimé Özer did a six month Lhundrub Tögal retreat there, Dzongter Kunzang Nyima made it his Dharma encampment, and after their union, Trülku Mingyur Dorjé and Taré Lhamo lived together in Lunshar Ritrö while receiving teachings from Dzongter Kunzang Nyima.

Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
