As an emanation of Vajrapani foretold by Yeshe Tsogyal, Tulku Dorje Dradul (1892-1960), Dudjom Lingpa’s youngest son, used his considerable might to protect and propagate the Dudjom Tersar as its tireless custodian for almost four decades. He shared his time between Dartsang Kalzang, the stronghold of his family, and Lungshar Ritrö, a mountain hermitage close by, which remained his personal seat until his passing. Through his activity, he ensured stability and prosperity of the Dudjom Tersar, and in granting its transmissions to his father’s body incarnation, Dudjom Jigdral Yeshe Dorje (1903-1957), he effected the most auspicious tendrel for the continuity of the lineage.
