Gégong
Appearance
Located in in the Trama Lung valley in Dzachukha, on the border between Kham and Golok, Gégong is a Nyingma monastery founded by a local lama in 1625.
After having received teachings from the First Dodrubchen Jikmé Trinlé Özer and from Do Khyentsé Yéshé Dorjé, Rogdza Sönam Palgé— the First Dzogchen Drubwang— settled in Gégong. There, he gave in depth Tsalung and Trulkhor teachings according to the Dzogchen Longchen Nyingtik lineage to Dza Paltrül Orgyen Jikmé Chökyi Wangpo and Orgyen Tendzin Norbu.
Later, Gégong became the main activity place of several teachers such as Khenpo Kunzang Palden (a student of Dza Paltrül Orgyen Jikmé Chökyi Wangpo and Düdjom Lingpa), Böpa Tulku Bötrul Do Ngak Tenpé Nyima, and Khenchen Dazer.
