Do Khyentsé Yéshé Dorjé
mdo mkhyen brtse ye shes rdo rje
Born in Golok after a mythic and divine conception, Do Khyentsé Yéshé Dorjé (1800–1866) spent many years of his youth with the Drikung Kagyü school and his root guru, Jikmé Trinlé Özer (1745–1821) —the First Dodrubchen.
Later, he was recognized as an emanation of Rigdzin Jikmé Lingpa (1729–1798). He is remembered as a wild yogi and tertön, leading a life filled with magical narratives. He famously introduced Dza Paltrül Orgyen Jikmé Chökyi Wangpo to rigpa, the nature of mind, while beating him and dragging him by the hair.
There are oral stories of his encounter with Düdjom Lingpa, whose son Khyentsé Trülku Dzamling Wangyal (1868-1907) was identified as an incarnation of Do Khyentsé Yéshé Dorjé.
