A region of Eastern Tibet, Dzachukha is the name of the valley of the Dza Chu.

This small river is the first source of the Nyak Chu (Ch Yalong). The area of Dzachukha is spiritually, culturally, and linguistically connected to the inner regions of Golok, but due to complex political allegiances, Dzachuka has been mostly considered to be part of Kham. When the Dergé Kingdom in Kham was strong and influential, Dzachuka paid taxes to the Dergé king. When the Dergé monarchy weakened or when the Golok chieftains were particularly strong, Dzachuka was incorporated into the network of Golok alliances. Hence, Dzachukha is considered to be both part of Kham and of outer Golok.

In particular, Dzachukha was home to several luminaries of the Longchen Nyingtik lineage, including Jikmé Gyalwé Nyugu (1765–1843), Dza Patrül (1808-1887)—meaning Patrül of Dzachukha—and Paltrül Namkha Jikmé (1889-1959).
