Tertön Sogyal Lérab Lingpa
gter ston bsod rgyal las rab gling pa/
A prolific tertön from Nyakrong, Tertön Sogyal Lérab Lingpa was initially trained in the Katok tradition before receiving instruction on the Longchen Nyingtik from Nyoshul Lungtok Tenpé Nyima (1829–1901).
In Lhasa, he established close ties with Thubten Gyatso (the Thirteenth Dalai Lama), who became one of his chödak (dharma heirs).
Tertön Sogyal spent the final years of his life in Golok, on the banks of the Do Chu, where he met several of Düdjom Lingpa’s sons: Trülku Drimé Özer (1881–1924) and Trülku Dorjé Dradul (1892–1960) whose teacher he became.
Also, he taught Dzongter Kunzang Nyima (1904–1959), a grandson of Düdjom Lingpa.
