Katok Situ Chökyi Gyatso
Katok Situ Chökyi Gyatso (1880-1925), the third trülku in the Katok Situ Trülkus line of incarnations of Katok Dorjé Den, was one of the most important lamas from Katok Dorjé Den at the turn of the 19th and during the 20th century.
A nephew and spiritual heir of Jamyang Khyentsé Wangpo, he also studied the sutras and tantras from more than eighteen great masters, particularly Jamgong Kongtrül Lodrö Tayé, Dza Paltrül Orgyen Jikmé Chökyi Wangpo, and became one of Jü Mipam Namgyal Gyatso’s foremost disciples.
