Located on the upper banks of the Nyi Chu in the western part of Serta, Awo Séra Tekchen Chökhor Ling was founded in 1736 by the First Sögen Tulku as is a Nyingma monastery of the Palyul tradition. Later, it became a Rimé institution. In the 19th century, it was the main activity place of the Fourth Sögen Trülku Natsok Rangdrol (1869–1935), a student of Düdjom Lingpa, and a chödak of both Trülku Drimé Özer (1881-1924) and Déwé Dorjé (1892-1940).[1]
