Arikdza Puk Khung
Located in Dzachukha and established in 1752 by the great siddha Padma Rinchen, Arikdza Puk Khung is a branch of Mindrol Ling (Central Tibet) monastery. In the second part of the 19th and early part of the 20th] century, it was the home of Puktrul Gyurmé Ngedön Wangpo (1860? – 1923), a student of Düdjom Lingpa and a teacher of Düdjom Jigdrel Yéshé Dorjé. Later, in the 20th century, Khenpo Péma Tséwang (1931-2002), one of the great scholars of the Nyingma tradition in recent times, studied and taught there. It is now a place of activity of Arik Tertön Drakpa (b.1962).
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
