Yarchen
yar chen/
Located on the left bank of the Ser Chu, in Serta, Yarchen is a valley which is just down Lama Rung. Chakung Jigme Wangdrak said, “In 1839, while being in Yarchen, Düdjom Lingpa had a vision of Nöjin Shenpa Marnak. The wisdom protector gave him a red arrow and ask him to plant it there, which he did on the actual place which will become Lama Rung in 1880. On a hill in Yarchen, there is a pass, which is where Tulku Dorje Dradül (1892-1059) was born. Therefore, Yarchen is a very important place for the Düdjom Tersar.”
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
