Ser Chu Pabong
Originally located within the Ser Chu course, between Nubzur and Lama Rung, Ser Chu Pabong is a sacred rock where the seven year old Düdjom Lingpa manifested a miracle.
In 1842, Düdjom Lingpa, his sister and a little neighbor girl went down the waters of the Ser Chu, which was at that time extremely turbulent. Rising above the surging waves was the top of a large boulder. Düdjom Lingpa thought, “Wouldn’t it be delightful to go up there?” Just after this thought occurred to him, he saw a path of rainbow light like an outspread blanket. As he stepped along there, it felt like walking on the ground. Düdjom Lingpa reached the top of the boulder and sat down. At that time, the boy saw many dakinis all around him, who started to give him a teaching through a song.
Nowadays, because the Chinese have extensively modified the landscape and diverted a lot of water, the Ser Chu is a much less turbulent river than it was during the life of Düdjom Lingpa (especially during the summertime, when the snow melt used to make the river rage).
