Paltang
dpal thang/
Located on the northern bank of the Mar Chu, between Dogongma and Sélitang, directly across from the Yungdrung Chaktsé and Chaktsé Tak Yak mountains, Paltang is where Anam Jadralwa Chöying Püntsok (a direct student of Düdjom Lingpa) moved toward the end of his life, and a stupa in his honor was built.
The stupa and the Mani stones of the site have become a place of pilgrimage where for parents who have lost a child and fear losing another come to take refuge.
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
