Ngawang Délék Rabgyé
A non-sectarian teacher throughout his life, Ngawang Délék Rabgyé (1936-2021) was prophesized by Düdjom Lingpa to appear in the Akyong Bum area of Golok, bearing a mole with a hair on his right jaw, a prediction verified by Khenchen Sangngak Tenzin of Lungkya Monastery.
Ngawang Délék Rabgyé began his training in the Jonang tradition in Golok before spending approximately eighteen years studying in hiding with esteemed Géshés and Khenpos in a Gélukpa monastery near Labrang Tashi Khyil in Rebkong following the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Notably, he was the sole recipient of the Nang Jang teachings from Khali, the eldest daughter of Düdjom Lingpa, making him a unique lineage holder of this profound dharma.
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
