‘Purifying Appearances’, Nang Jang is a collection of the most secret instructions Düdjom Lingpa received through a series of visions of fourteen enlightened beings—including Avalokiteshvara, Ekadzati, Saraha and Longchenpa—and is counted among his five primary Dzogchen treatises. These instructions point out the view of Dzogchen, meaning Trekchö, and are of central importance in the Düdjom Tersar tradition. Based on teaching notes from instructions given by his son Tulku Drimé Özer, Déwé Dorjé composed the Kalden Gyepé Gulgyen (The Garland for the Delight of the Fortunate), an extensive commentary that remains widely studied.
