One of the foremost disciples of Rigdzin Jikmé Lingpa (1730-1798), Jikmé Gyalwé Nyugu (1765–1843) devoted the entire latter part of his life to teaching whoever came to listen, giving empowerments or meditation instructions to all who had a pure heart, especially from the Longchen Nyingtik lineage.
He became the root teacher of Dza Paltrül Orgyen Jikmé Chökyi Wangpo (1808-1887), the speech emanation of Jikmé Lingpa. His instructions on the preliminary practices are recorded in Dza Patrül 's famous Kunzang Lamé Shyalung (The Words of My Perfect Teacher).
