A sacred mountain in the valley of the Mar Chu, Hoblé is both a small mountain and a local deity of the same name. This local protector is riding a yak. When all the local deity-protectors came to request Düdjom Lingpa not to leave the banks of the Mar Chu for Serta, Hoblé was the last one to arrive, because he was slow: he was riding a Yak.
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
