Also simply known as Dodrubchen Monastery, Dodrubchen Tsangchen Ngödrup Pelbar Ling lies in the Tsangchen plain, in the upper part of the Do Chu valley, Golok.

Belonging to the Longchen Nyingtik lineage, it was founded in its current location in 1862 by the second Dodrubchen Jikmé Püntsok Jungné. Dodrubchen Jikmé Tenpé Nyima (1865–1926), Düdjom Lingpa’s oldest son, was recognized as one of the trülku of the Second Dodrubchen.

Trülku Drimé Özer, Düdjom Lingpa’s fifth son, spent part of his childhood studying at Dodrubchen Tsangchen Ngödrup Pelbar Ling under the tutelage of his elder brother Dodrubchen Jikmé Tenpé Nyima.
