Düdjom Lingpa 's ngadrama (looks-like-me) statue
The Düdjom Lingpa 's ngadrama (looks-like-me) statue is located in Makor, on the banks of the Ser Chu, in Golok.
During the time of Düdjom Lingpa, probably between 1890 and 1903, the local craftsman Rebkong Shérab modelled in clay two ngadramas, “Looks-like-me” statues of Düdjom Lingpa.
Anam Thubten shares,
Because of the technical conditions at that time and fearing it would brake, Rebkong Shérab felt he could not design the statue with Düdjom Lingpa's right arm the threatening mudra (above to the right). So he asked Düdjom Lingpa if he could instead build the right hand and arm in front of Düdjom Lingpa's heart. To which Düdjom Lingpa said that was OK.
Chakung Jikmé Wangdrak recounts,
Once completed, Rebkong Shérab invited Düdjom Lingpa to consecrate the two statues. Having blessed the two statues, Düdjom Lingpa asked them, “Are you the same as me?” And one of the two statues replied, “Yes!” The statue that had spoken was lost or destroyed during the Cultural revolution, but the other was hidden and later brought back and re-installed in its maker’s house in Makor.
