Tsimda
rtsis mda' dgon pa/
A branch of Katok Dorjé Den, Tsimda is a monastery located on the banks of the Mar Chu. It was founded in 1925 by Apang Tertön Orgyen Trinlé Lingpa, and houses statues of both Apang Tertön and Düdjom Lingpa in its Vajrasattva temple. The main Vajrasattva temple was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution in 1966, with only the principal Vajrasattva image surviving the devastation. A new statue of Düdjom Lingpa has been built and placed inside the temple.

Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
