Mardringpo
smar ‘bring po
Located on the banks of the Mar Dring Chu—a tributary of the Mar Chu—, just above Dogongma Monastery, Mardingpo is a religious encampment. In 1915, Gara Gyalsé Pema Namgyal received an invitation from Hor Öchung Lama, a direct student of Düdjom Lingpa, to attend the consecration ceremony for a large prayer wheel that the lama had built there.F35
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
