Now known as the Bayan Har Mountains and formerly known as the Bayen-káras or Bayan-Kara-Ula, Bayen Khala Rakmo is a mountain range in the southern part of inner Golok, currently in Qinghai Province, northwest China. The name is Mongolian for "Rich and Black". The Bayen Khala Rakmo can be viewed as one of the branches of the Kunlun Mountains. The Bayen Kala Rakmo separates the drainage areas of both the Ma Chu (Ch. Yellow River) and the Dri Chu (Ch. Yangtze): the water flowing from its northern side feeds into the Dri Chu, while the water flowing from its southern side feeds into the Dri Chu.
