Born as a princess in the clan of Kharchen of Central Tibet, one of the five main consorts of Guru Rinpoche, Yeshe Tsogyal played a crucial role in the establishment of Dharma in Tibet and throughout the Himalayan world. Yeshe Tsogyal became deeply involved in the practice of Vajrakilaya and experienced visions of the deity and gained accomplishment. Through the power of her unfailing memory, she collected all the teachings given by Guru Rinpoche in Tibet and concealed them as terma. At the end of her life, it is said, she flew through the air and went directly to Zangdok Palri (the Copper-Coloured Mountain of Glory), the pure land where Guru Rinpoche now dwells.
