Tubten Trinlé Pal Zangpo
One of the most important masters in the Nyingma and Dzogchen traditions, the Fourth Dodrubchen Tubten Trinlé Pal Zangpo was recognized by Yukhok Chatralwa and enthroned at age four. He was one of the fourth incarnations of the Third Dodrubchen Jikmé Tenpé Nyima, whose predecessor’s predecessor was a heart-son of Jikmé Lingpa (the Tertön who revealed the Longchen Nyingtik). As a principal holder of the Longchen Nyingtik teachings, he studied with many great masters and established his seat in Gangtok, Sikkim after leaving Tibet in 1957, where he taught extensively until his parinirvana in 2022.
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
