Tsari
Also known as Dakpa Sherli (Pure Crystal Mountain), Tsari is a major mountain and pilgrimage destination in Southern Tibet. The mountain lies at the south-eastern end of the Great Himalayan range, to the north-west of Powo. It is one of the last peaks (5,735 m) before the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) cuts through the range in the world's deepest gorge, through Béyul Pémakö.
Together with Amnyé Machen, Khawa Karpo and Mount Kailash (Gang Rinpoché), Tsari stands as one of the most important mountains in Tibet. It is associated with both Nyingma and later Buddhist traditions, particularly with various Kagyü traditions, chief among them the Drukpa Kagyü and Drikung Kagyü, who link it with the sacred sites of the Khorlo Demchok (Chakrasamvara) Tantra.
