Trülku Péma Nangsal Dorjé
Into a family with deep bonds to Katok Dorje Den, Tulku Pema Nangsal Dorjé was born. His father, Gönpa Lama Chökyi Dorjé, a direct student of Düdjom Lingpa, was recognized as an incarnation of Katok Dampa Deshek, the founder of Katok Dorje Den (Kham). His elder brother, Kunzang Pema Trinlé Gyatso, was recognized as the Fourth Chaktsa Tulku. Tulku Pema Nangsal Dorjé was recognized as the Second Katok Chamtrul, another line of incarnations of Katok Dorje Den. He dedicated all his life in the administration of Mardo Tashi Chöling, which had become a family-led monastery, and to the Dharma.
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
