Trülku Dampa

Being one of the few grandsons of Düdjom Lingpa—through his father Tulku Lhachen Tobgyal (1884-1942)—who survived the political troubles of the 1960’s, Tulku Dampa (1928-1983) was able to re-propagate the Düdjom Tersar throughout Golok in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
