Tertön Jikmé Dorjé
Also known as Gönpa Tulku Lhatsam, Tertön Jikme Dorjé was the Third Gönpa Lama, ie. the third head of Mardo Tashi Chöling, the Dharma place founded by Düdjom Lingpa on the banks of the Mar Chu. During his life, he was not so much teaching, but mostly presiding the monastery and focusing on writing termas. His successor is Garlong Sungtrül Orgyen Jigmé Dorjé, an incarnation of Gara Terchen Pema Dündül Wangchuk Lingpa.
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
