Shokser
shog ser/
Shokser is the paper scroll of symbolic script—which is the concealment of the termas—which the Tertöns discover. Although they are known as ‘yellow scrolls’, the papers are of various colors, and the script is written in ink of various kinds and colors.
A yellow scroll sixty feet in length, discovered by Thangtong Gyalpo (1385-1509) is mentioned in The Precious Garland of Lapis Lazuli, but this might be a complete text and not a coded script. (Tulku Thöndup).
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
