Rinchen Terdzö
One of Jamgön Kongtrul's Five Great Treasures, the Rinchen Terdzö ('The Treasury of Precious Termas) spans approximately sixty volumes and was completed in 1889. It is a comprehensive compilation preserving all termas discovered up to that time, including the treasures of Chokgyur Lingpa. Düdjom Jikdrel Yéshé Dorjé bestowed the entire collection numerous times, each transmission taking roughly one month — remarkably short compared to the customary three to six months.
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
