Lalung Palgyi Dorjé
lha lung dpal gyi rdo rje/
As one of the main twenty-five principal disciples of Guru Rinpoché, Lalung Palgyi Dorjé is celebrated in Tibetan Buddhist history for his assassination of the anti-Buddhist King Langdarma in 842 CE—an act understood not as murder but as a wrathful liberation that ended the systematic persecution of the Dharma in Tibet.
At the close of his life, he achieved the jalü, the rainbow body.
