Khorlo Dratsang
khor lo grwa tshang/
The practice place established by Düdjom Jigdrel Yéshé Dorjé in his birthplace, the village of Terkong Nang, Khorlo Dratsang is located in the upper part of Pémakö.
Khorlo Dratsang was not a monastery, but just a Dharma center, a place where people could come just to practice. The original seat of Düdjom Jigdrel Yeshe Dorje, which he used while giving teachings in Khorlo Dratsang, was transferred to Déden Trashi Chölingn which is located in the southern part of Pemakö, nowadays in India.
Since the early 8th century, Tibetans and Himalayan people have treasured "Namtars" as written or spoken narratives that demonstrate the realization of the Buddhist path by exceptional practitioners. These namtars, or spiritual biographies, serve as inspirational guides on the path to enlightenment.
Today, Namtars Foundation aims to record, preserve, and freely offer the world a written and electronic treasury of the oral wisdom of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhism.
