Drubpa Yéshé Nyima
The Drubpa Yeshe Nyima is the Léjang (Activity manual) called “The Sun of Primordial Wisdom” for the practice of Tröma Nakmo of the Chönyi Namkha Long Dzö, a terma cycle revealed by Düdjom Lingpa. Because it is used as the basis for the Trötring—the medium length sadhana group practice of Tröma Nakmo,— the Drubpa Yeshe Nyima is nowadays often called ‘The medium-length sadhana of Tröma Nakmo’.
Background
For almost two decades, Düdjom Lingpa was deeply involved in the transcription of termas practices he had revealed.
From 1862 to 1870, Düdjom Lingpa was mainly residing and in retreat in Tröpuk Khandro Dükhang, a special cave on the left bank of the Mar Chu, in Golok. At that time, he had gathered a small group of students, among which the principal six were Gili Ngawang Gyatso, Goser Önpo Khyenrab Gyatso, Horla Pema Tashi, Hor Péma Tashi and Ngawang Trinlé.
Then, from 1871 to 1880, Düdjom Lingpa established himself in a place which will become known as Mardo Tashi Chöling. There, he gatherered a second wave of students, among which the principal six were Alak Do Ngak Gyatso, Gönpa Lama Chökyi Dorje, Chuktsang Dorjz Zangpo, Lingtrul Pema Lungtok Gyatso, Gara Terchen Düdul Wangchuk Lingpa, and Anam Jadral.
Revelation
In 1865, having a vision of Dorjé Naljorma (Vajrayogini)
In the Namtar Shyal Sungma, Düdjom Lingpa (then thirty years of age) shared what happened in 1865, while he was probably in retreat in Dröpuk Khandro Dükhang, on the banks of the Mar Chu, Düdjom Lingpa had one night a vision of Dorje Naljorma. She granted him the complete wang (empowerment) and lung (scriptural transmission) for the heart practice of the Drubpa Yeshe Nyima, which includes the complete sacred instructions of Chö, and for a sadhana related to Tröma Nakmo. When those transmissions were completed, Dorje Naljorma also gave Düdjom Lingpa some prophecies and profound advice, and finally vanished within nonreferential space.
In the early 1870s, being requested to write the sadhana
Several years later, in the early 1870s, it was his student Chuktsang Dorje Zangpo who requested Düdjom Lingpa to reveal the Drubpa Yeshe Nyima (as in shown in the colophon of the text).

Colophon
In the colophon of the text, Düdjom Lingpa wrote,
"If practice is done accordingly to this sadhana, all those extremely fortunate disciples with devotion and earnest application will receive accomplishments in this very lifetime. Holding firmly to the awareness of the future's uncertainty, fortunate ones who practice accordingly will be liberated in this life to become a dharma ruler of the three realms.
At that time, all beings who have a karmic connection will be meaningfully tamed. Gods, spiritis, and human will become disciples. Through this very practice, hundreds and thousands of beings have achieve realization. In the future, all beings with such fortunate karma will receive the essential life drop of Saraha.
Dza Rahula, Tsen and Mamos are the chökyong (protectors) under oath to guard this sadhana. They will partake of the heart blood of all beings who break their commitments or turn from the view. They will support all practitioners and lineage holders.
Secretely sealed with body, speech and mind.
I, Rigdzin Chönyi Longdrol [aka Düdjom Lingpa], have revealed this terma from the terma chest of unchanging pure awareness, at the request of the one named Chuktsang Dorje Zangpo.
The letters have been carefully recorded by the yogin Hor Püntsok Tashi, at Mardo Tashi Chöling.
Signs
Through the practice of the Drubpa Yeshe Nyima, many direct students of Düdjom Lingpa and later of the Düdjom Tersar, have shown the highest signs of realization.
